1999 BMW M3 1999 BMW M3 Coupe - Fern Green over Sand Beige - Recently Refreshed

1999 BMW MVIN: WBSBG9339XEY81897Listing Date: 2018/10/23
Price: $XX,500.0Mileage: XX,433Location: Tucson,AZ,USA

Selling my beautiful 1999 BMW M3 coupe, Fern Green over Sand Beige, 2/99 production. I have spent thousands of dollars refreshing the car, and although there could be a few more things done to get it back to 100% stock, the car is essentially ready to go for the new owner. Purchase History: I bought my M3 coupe on December 31st of 2015 with 88371 chassis miles on it. Today, it only has 89,433.... So I've barely put a thousand miles on the car for the 3 years I've owned it. The car came from a private dealer in the Carolinas, and was previously owned by a military officer stationed at Ft. Bragg. Before that, the car was sold new in Colorado (I have some historical documentation as well as the original window sticker which I will provide to the new owner). During my ownership, I've refreshed the car, and only driven it 1062 miles. It's been in a few car shows, and been on the cover of our local BMWCCA club newsletter. I have a lot of other BMW projects going on right now, so I sadly have chosen to sell my M3 to make room in the garage. If I had more room, I would keep this car without a doubt. Paint and Body: This car is extremely nice when it comes to the exterior cosmetics, very minimal dings, scrapes or scratches. Once my paint correction guy did his magic on the car (along with Opticoat), the result was a deep liquid green luster. Since the car had a 3M clear bra on it for the first 17 years of its life, the front end is nearly perfect and free from major road rash. Because of this, I hesitate to even drive it here in Tucson where rock chips are frequent. I've also changed out the front and rear black bumper strips with new, as well as many under-panel parts and even the vertical air dams on either side of the radiator (nobody ever changes those!). Lights, taillights and fog lights are all new. New rear M3 emblem. Old purple tint was removed revealing beautiful original BMW glass all around. I also have some very nice OEM clear plastic headlamps which I can include with the car if you don't like the selective yellow ellipsoid glass DEPO lights. I believe I also have some clear OEM tail lights too, if you don't like the amber turn signals. This is a factory rear wing delete car, although previous owners have installed an upper rear window shade/diffuser, and a rear trunk lip spoiler (both painted to match). I do have an OEM rear wing for the car, currently painted silver, but I decided not to install it. Interior: Excellent condition sand beige (electric and heated) ///M 'Vader' seats, although some touch ups were done on the bolsters with an airbrush (I assume by the dealer I bought the car from). Also, the driver's seat will need new recliner gears, but all motors and electrics are working. Rear seats are near perfect. A set of new floor mats should be all that's needed to complete the interior refresh. Windows all work, although I haven't had a chance to open the door panels to lube the mechanisms etc. Stereo works great as well (HK sound), and appears completely unmodified. Glove box works with no sagging. Rear parcel shelf has been re-sprayed black. Headliner appears original and in excellent condition. Sunroof works smoothly. This M3 has the desirable folding rear seats also. Engine: When I received the car, it had a RMS supercharger kit on it, which I removed and reverted everything back to stock the best I could, at the cost of over $4500. This car is so clean, it deserved to be put back right. It still wears some kind of aftermarket headers, and the desirable ActiveAutowerkes exhaust. I have a very nice stock exhaust with the car, if you would like it, as well as some OEM headers. Regardless, this combination sounds amazing, and is not obnoxious whatsoever. The engine DME was purchased and programmed for my car, and has some special features which I will inform to the new buyer. I had to replace the DME, as the one in the car was programmed by RMS for the supercharger, and was sold with the supercharger parts. The secondary air pump and all O2 sensors/cats are in full operation on this car, and should not have any issues passing emissions in California. In full disclosure, this car has had its engine changed out long before I purchased it, estimated to be around 2008. This new engine supposedly came out of a wrecked M3 convertible automatic (according to the SN) and most importantly was a warrantied LKQ motor (not a random junkyard pull!). It shows nearly perfect compression, and has no VANOS rattle. I have full video available for the compression check on YouTube. I've installed new spark plugs, new coils, new fluids, new intake manifold, new injectors, new radiator, new coolant hoses, new fan, new fan clutch, new expansion tank, new pullies, new Stewart water pump, new 88°C thermostat, new BMW coolant, new valve cover gaskets, and even a new DME computer (to name a few things). I also have deleted the ASC boot, and went with the earlier non ASC OEM intake elbow. Transmission: It has an RMS short shift kit (very rare), and I'm guessing an aftermarket clutch, as it chatters in reverse like those clutches do. If I were to keep the car, I would put a single mass flywheel stock clutch kit in and remove the short shifter (I tend to go with OEM). I would also overhaul the ZF 5 speed with new seals, as I think there is a slight weeping from the selector shaft seal (common). The gear box oil and differential oil were just changed today (10/21/18) and have no miles since. Suspension: I still have the original suspension with the car, as I've installed a set of used Koni-yellow with DINAN springs all around to get the car lowered ever so slightly, and tighten up the ride. The rears also have the OEM BMW riser pads installed on the springs. Brakes: Previous owners have installed some aftermarket drilled rotors. I have not serviced the braking system on this car, although everything works as it should and the rotors have almost no wear. Wheels: The Contour wheels on the car are original to this vehicle, are in excellent condition. These wheels are wearing *brand new* 2018 Hankook V12s with ZERO miles on them, installed today (10/21/18). The mint spare contour wheel has *never been mounted to a hub* and has its original tire. Additional info: I have plenty more information and photos, so please don't hesitate to ask any questions. To really get a good look at the car: 47 min. walk around video: https://youtu.be/WT3IBUkU7E0 compression check video: https://youtu.be/DuG4XDAESac Payment: The car still has a lien, but my credit union is great to work with and I guarantee there will not be any issues with regard to payoff, clean Arizona title, and a safe transaction for both parties, etc. Wire transfer or bank check straight to my financial institution is best, but you will deal direct with my bank for both our security. Shipping: I'm happy to work with your shipper to get the car to its new home, but I'd *definitely recommend* an enclosed carrier for this beauty! I keep the car 100% garaged and under cover at all times, so I'd hate to see the car shipped out on an open carrier in the middle of winter! Thanks for looking, and happy bidding! Joe

1999 BMW M3 with 86k miles. It is very very quick and handles like a dream. This is not a show car, it was built for speed. I have owned this car for 2 1/2 years and have put 4 thousand miles on it. It has always been stored inside. Has two fully functional gray Vader seats. The car has Dinan cold air intake, Bavarian Motorsports sway bar. It has TC Kline Racing adjustable coil over kit. Dinan full exhaust. The car sits on 5 spoke Sport Edition rims. Comes with two sets of track tires. One set has a half day on them and the other set has 4-5 days at the track. Track rims are K-1 Racing Kosei and the tires are Toyo R888. The car is in great mechanical condition and I have never had any problems with it. Brake pads where just replaced but the front left rotor pad is grooved and could be replaced, occasionally squeaks. The paint has chips and almost unnoticeable dings in it. On the front left quarter panel, there is some clear coat that is missing. The side skirting on the passenger side is pulled away about a centimeter further than normal. The door handle on the driver's side needs to be adjusted and occasionally is hard to open. There is no spare tire. The shock towers have been reenforced as well as the subframe. PLEASE view all pictures as they most accurately tell the story of the car. THIS is NOT a show car. Please call me with any questions at 319-533-187two. I have done my best to be as transparent as possible.
